Today has been quite an emotional day as we say farewell to the majority of our children across the Trust. For our Year 6s of course, it has been particularly poignant as there is a quiet, unspoken realisation that they may not return to their primary school which will be shut ‘until further notice’.
Hopefully, as Boris Johnson suggests, this virus will have reached its peak in around 12 weeks’ time and we can begin to return to some sort of normality. However, there is little doubt that ‘normality’ will have changed by then – perhaps it needed to?
I know the coming weeks/months will be a struggle for many, in one way or another, but we’ll get through this because we’ll take care of ourselves and our loved ones. At the risk of sounding too corny, let’s think about ‘dancing in the rain’ rather than ‘waiting for the storm to pass’ and make the most of every precious minute. Happier times will come.
Keep safe everyone,
Our school is a thriving village school set in the beautiful North Devon countryside near Tiverton. We are a caring and happy school with a passion for children's learning and well-being. As a small school we are able to personalise the learning every child receives and offer an enriching curriculum that is enhanced by our membership of TEAM Academy Trust. This provides us with the opportunity to work closely with our partner schools and give our children a range of opportunities not always available to schools in rural settings. Our school currently has just under 100 pupils who are inspired by high quality teaching coupled with excellent facilities.
