Nurturing Young Minds for a Bright Future

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had another busy week! Thank you for bearing with us regarding Sports Day. We will try again on Wednesday 24th June, so I am hoping for some sunny weather. We had a run-through on Monday and the children are excited as they have chosen some new races this year!

On Monday, we also had a transition morning where the children had the opportunity to move into their new year groups. We welcomed three reception children as infants who settled in so well. Well done to Archie for spending the morning in the junior class.

On Tuesday we had our whole school photography on the playground. The children were very well-behaved and listened well to where they needed to stand. They even had the chance to have a silly photo too!

Mrs Potter and I attended an Early Years network meeting on Wednesday evening. It was a great opportunity to meet teachers from other settings, share ideas and discuss updated guidance for EYFS.

On Thursday, TEAM hosted a transition day for year 6 at Witheridge School. This was a chance for children from our trust to get together ready for starting year 7 in September.

We opened our new giant sandpit this week and it was a great success! Thank you to Liz Bulled, who was the councillor who awarded us the grant for materials to make our sandpit. Thank you also to Rosa and Simon for building the sandpit and parents for helping to source the materials. We really appreciate your support in giving our children such a wonderful resource.

Last week the infants started their swimming lessons. They were very engaged, well-behaved and listened to the instructors. We had a very quiet journey on the way home as they had worked so hard!!

Next week we have our Putsborough beach trips to look forward to. This is always a great learning experience for the children. We will also have our end-of-term assessments taking place next week, which the children are very familiar with, and I am sure they will do their very best.

Have a lovely weekend
