Baking Like the Vikings!

As part of their learning on the Vikings, the Junior Class explored what life was like hundreds of years ago by learning about the foods that would have been eaten during the Viking era. To bring their learning to life, the children had the exciting opportunity to make their own bread, inspired by a traditional Viking diet.

The pupils carefully measured, mixed, and prepared the ingredients before watching their bread bake. Once it was ready, everyone enjoyed taking part in a taste test to see what Viking-style bread was like!

The children thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on experience, which helped them develop practical cooking skills while deepening their understanding of history. It was a fantastic way to combine learning with fun, and the class loved stepping back in time to experience a small part of everyday Viking life!
